My favorite Thanksgiving project just arrived last week! The wonderful disguise a turkey family project! I have done this with all of my boys over the years and look forward to it every year.
The idea of this project is that the turkey is trying to hide before thanksgiving and it’s our job to disguise him so he doesn’t get selected for someone’s turkey dinner. For this home project, the student works with family to create their turkey.

I asked my 6 year old for ideas. He wanted to do Baby Yoda!

He first painted the feathers brown.

He then cut out green foam pieces for baby yoda’s head and ears.
We used brown foam and felt for the body. I happened to find a green straw in the craft room and we wrapped a silver sparkly pipe cleaner around it. So techinically baby yoda doesn’t use a lightsaber, but how could we not include it?! It turned out so cute!

My son thought the buttons were a nice touch.
Here is the Turkey disguised as Baby Yoda.

I loved working together with my son on this. I had him do the painting, cutting of the foam, and making the lightsaber. He placed all the pieces in order as I used the hot glue gun to attach everything. One googly eye is bigger than the other, but that’s the way he wanted it! We added the frog stickers since baby yoda eats frogs.
