My son is celebrating his birthday and wanted to help make penguin cupcakes!

I baked vanilla cupcakes, but you could really do any kind you like. You will also need vanilla frosting, a bag of Oreos, orange M&Ms (out of the regular bag), and candy eyes (not pictured).

After baking the cupcakes and letting them cool. I frosted them with cream cheese frosting. I then twisted the oreos apart. You will use both parts.

Cut a portion of the cream side oreo for the penguins head. Take the other plain oreo and split in half (twice). You will have a quarter for each wing.

Assemble the oreos on the penguin. Add the candy eyes and the orange M&Ms for the beak and feet. I had all the kids help with putting together the penguins. It made for a fun memory together and each cupcake was slightly different which I love!
